Circula
HT (Heating Oil).
This is a high quality mineral oil with low vapour pressure, high thermal stability and adequate thermal conductivity for purposes of heat transfer. This oil is recommended for non-pressurised, closed liquid phase heating systems operating at bulk oil temperatures up to 320 deg C and with a maximum film temperature of 340 deg C. There are prescribed procedures for introducing Heat transfer Oils in such systems. The System should be properly cleaned, flushed and drained before filling up with Circula HT 150. General rule is to fill in a volume by which the oil level in the expansion chamber is 30-45% of the level expected at the operating temperature. Ensure that the System has an Expansion Chamber incorporated, as mineral oils expand when heated. All precautions are to be taken to to minimize the exposure of the oil to the atmosphere especially when the bulk temperatures exceed 50 deg C.
